Dr. Bobbi Joy Voermans

Our fearless leader, Dr. Bobbi Voermans, passed away unexpectedly on July 9, 2021 at the age of 43. Her passion for chiropractic care ran deep as she was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in middle school. After her diagnosis, she turned to chiropractic care and her life changed forever. Bobbi was able to play sports throughout high school and even in college, thanks to treatment. That alone inspired her to become a chiropractor.

Dr. Bobbi attended UW- Eau Claire to earn an undergraduate degree in biology while playing softball for two years there before graduating in 2000. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN.

Before returning to her hometown of Tomahawk, WI, she began her career as a chiropractor in 2003 at Howard Chiropractic Clinic in Green Bay, WI. Dr. Bobbi furthered her career in 2005 when she relocated to Medford, WI to practice at Allied Health Wildberg Chiropractic Office. In 2009, she returned to Tomahawk and joined Allied Health Barr Chiropractic of Tomahawk. Dr. Bobbi and her husband, Grant, purchased Barr Chiropractic Clinic in 2016, and she proudly named it “Hometown” Chiropractic.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Bobbi served as a board member for Kinship of Tomahawk and on the Board of Directors for Park City Credit Union. Her and Grant enjoyed raising their two daughters, Sam and Alicia, on their land in the Harrison area. She loved Ranger rides, making maple syrup, camping with her family, and viewing the sunsets.

At the time of Dr. Bobbi’s passing, her devoted husband took over the leadership of Hometown Chiropractic Center and our team feels so honored to practice in the same clinic that Dr. Bobbi compassionately provided care to many patients.

We will always remember Dr. Bobbi as someone with an infectious and warm smile. As Dr. Bobbi would say, “Have your BEST day!”
